IR Relief is based on a beautiful, mature and comprehensive vision creating a positive environment. Acoustic design integrated into the relief fosters achievement of the same goals. It calms the space for the speaker and audience.
IR Relief’s most important property is the possibility to take into consideration the special features of each site in close cooperation with the architect and acoustic designer.

WHERE TO USE IR RELIEF
IR Relief is ordinarily placed on a wall or integrated into the furnishings. It suits very well to public spaces, auditoriums, meeting rooms or any space for which figures or perforation provide a solution to esthetic or acoustic requirements.

HOW TO GET IR RELIEF
The final product would be done so that after negotiating with the architect and acoustic engineer, Ilona Rista would draw sketches. The patterns, colour shades and other characteristics would be designed to complement the overall vision of the architect. After the model is accepted, she would make an offer for that particular design and it would be done and installated there according to the schedule as agreed. No other client gets the same model.

BEST TEAM OF EXPERTS
Ilona Rista works when necessary in cooperation with creative experts. The team includes acoustic ingeneer, industrial designers, an architect, material producers, manufacturers as well as a skilled installation team.

WHAT KIND OF TIMETABLE
In order to ensure the best possible results, we recommend starting the collaboration as early as possible, preferably at the same time as the other designing of the building. The timetable is naturally always agreed in line with other construction schedules.

FIRE PROTECTION
The new classification system for the reaction to fire performance of building products in Europe: Solid wood panelling is ‘a product with known and stable fire performance’ and does not have to be tested separately.

IR Relief

IR Relief is a unique artwork. It is also designed from a technical and productive perspective
IR Relief is an esthetically high-quality solid wood acoustic relief. It can also be applied to curved wall surfaces.
IR Relief is always custom made.
Sufficient absorption of background noise by a wooden relief makes a peaceful space, where sound can be heard but it is not noisy.
The artist’s fingerprint brings power and sensitivity to the space that can be experienced every time in a new way.

Ilona Rista

With over 25 years of experience as a wood artist and a wood carver, Ilona Rista have became a connoisseur of materials. During the last nine years she have specialized in acoustic reliefs and new wooden technology. New technology can open new doors, widening the artistic possibilities.
Ilona Rista has held several private shows since 1991, e.g. at the Helsinki Art Hall.
IR Relief has been on display in several domestic and international furnishing trade fairs for public spaces.
